Starfield Builds: Celestia

Celestia

Introduction

The Celestia is a B-class multi-purpose vehicle. It is a competent fighter, cargo transport, and passenger ship all at once. I don't remember which ship I built it from, but the Fuel Tank is beyond the character's Ship Design skill. It was most certainly a pirate ship of some sort, with "pirate" meaning any of the antagonistic factions out there.

The Celestia is greatly inspired by the Galaxy-class Freighter from the Wing Commander: Privateer game from a couple of decades past. That ship had much more narrow engine nacelles and they were mounted on thin rails. I think that this ship captures the overall feel of the Galaxy-class within the Starfield universe.

Head-canon Lore

The Celestia is a Galactic-class civilian transport built by the Deimos Staryard in the Sol system. The Galactic-class is a sleeper favorite of explorers, bounty hunters, and other adventurers who roam the galactic highways.

General Overview

The Celestia is truly a Jack-of-All Trades ship. A dedicated warship would have more weapon systems and maneuverability. A cargo carrier would load up on more cargo space. As is, it is designed for a character who is just starting to expand from basic A-class ships into the B-class and the first point in Ship Design.

The placement of the Slim Docker and modules gives it a single ladder column, not counting the landing bay at the rear of the ship. It is pretty easy to navigate. I included the ability to have some addition Crew stations, as well as a fair bit of passenger space as well.

Starfield Builds: Svyatoshchik

Starfield Builds: Svyatoshchik

Introduction

The Svyatoshchik is a HopeTech Class-A freighter inspired by the Stronghold. I built it from a Va'ruun Hymn, which is where many of the parts that would normally require Starship Design come from. I built the ship at Level 7, on an Outpost Landing Pad w/Ship Builder

Over time, I intend to expand and upgrade the build all the way to Class-C. This is just the humble beginning.

The name Svyatoshchik comes from one of my former employees. Always a reliable guy that, aside from standing like 6'7" was pretty unassuming and mild. I could always count on him to get the job done and done right.

Pronunciation: Svyatoshchik [Svee-ah-toe-shik]

Head Canon

The Svyatoshchik is one of the now-defunct Argyllshire-class transports manufactured by HopeTech between 2303-2315. The Argyllshire-class has been superceded by the larger Highlander-class of vessels, though there are still plenty of Argyllshires on the secondary market. The Argyllshire-class is more compact than the Highlander-class and lacks some of the amenities and features of its larger cousin. Still, for a relatively inexpensive cargo ship, there are worse choices.

The Svyatoshchik, formerly christened the Caledonia, was salvaged from the world of Niira by the Reladyne Corporation and returned to private service circa 2327. It has since been sold onto the open market and changed hands at least once.

General Overview

The Syvatoshchik is divided into five levels. As with all of my ship builds, it is designed for the purpose of simulating what a deep space vessel, intended for long-range duty, might look like. As such, it is not entirely maximized for efficiency.

There is a central ladder shaft, running from the aft portion of the Infirmary, up to the Captain's Quarters. Both the All-in-One and Captain's Quarters retain the restroom for verisimilitude. There are four crew and four bunks. Finally, the Infirmary connects directly to the Bay, which would allow for any patients to quickly and easily be moved to a hospital, upon landing.

The Svyatoshchik is intended as a starter build that, in time, will be expanded and improved upon by the owner. Starting out it has decent stats for the available parts, but with a little money and the right level/skills, it can become quite powerful.

The Svyatoshchik is also not very sexy, being essentially a big rectangular block. Part of the upgrades could be some Structural additions for better aesthetics. I personally plan on using some of the cargo hold types to both expand the cargo capacity further and break up the lines a little.
